Membership

  1. The membership is open to every responsible Nigerian Youth between the age of 18-55 years who subscribes to the objectives of DYON.
  2. Members are allowed to introduce persons of good conduct that are willing to be members.
  3. All members shall be treated as one in all levies and contributions which shall be determined by the National Executive Council.
  4. Authentic membership of the body shall be by being financially up to date in all dues, fines, contributions, donations and levies.
  5. A member who is fund to be of questionable character that may bring the organization to ridicule shall be summarily dismissed by the organization through its disciplinary committee.
  6. Membership form shall be obtained, as receipt will be issued to the member.
  7. The L.G.A chapter co-ordinators shall distribute the forms to the ward chapters.
  8. The national secretariat shall be responsible for the distribution of membership forms to all chapters.
  9. The National Admin Secretary shall be authorized the signatory to the membership form of the body.

 

TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP

Inspite of the cost already incurred in the course of his/her admission into the body, a member shall be summarily dismissed from the organization, if a confirmed report found him/her guilty of insubordinations or abuse of constitutional provisions of the body.

 

BENEFITS OF MEMBERS

  1. DYON shall honour the invitation of a member in any of the following occasions: (i) wedding (ii) Traditional marriage (iii) House warning (iv) Naming ceremony, birthday ceremony and remembrance.
  2. Honouring of any invitation of a member shall be done once.
  3. A financial up to date member is entitled to an amount that would be decided by the house if the body is officially informed, two months prior to the date of the ceremony.
  4. The amount shall be handed over to the member at the time of the ceremony in cheque, the member shall make special seating arrangement for the body, and shall provide three cartons of fruit juice, drinks, food and enough table water for members.
  5. The Director of Protocol or Chapter Protocol Committee Chairman shall provide DYON banner and put same as backdrop.
  6. The body shall make a provision of assorted drinks of their choice as the case maybe for themselves at the ceremony.
  7. If a member is detained in the police bar for a case that does not involve stealing, robbery, murder or attempted murder, manslaughter, rape, treason and kidnapping, and the body is notified by the member through his/her relative, member of the body within the chapter shall visit the member and stand for his/her bail whereas the member shall later bear any expenses made, without any interest.
  8. Notwithstanding section (III) of the article, the President, Deputy President, Board of Trustees Chairman and other elected members of the NEC’s benefit as in section (i) of this article shall be decided by the National Executive Council and 36 States Executive Council and F.C.T respectively.

 

DEATH OF A MEMBER

  1. If a member passes away and he or she is financially up to date, the body shall present an envelope that contained an amount (cheques) approved by the house for that purpose at the venue of the funeral ceremony.
  2. The family of the late member shall make a special seating arrangement for the body.
  3. The house shall take care of its entertainment.
  4. A registered member shall be a financial member for a period of not less than two years to enjoy the above mentioned benefits.
